Things We Love: Say I DO! LGBT Wedding & Lifestyle Expo

Who doesn’t love weddings? Folks in love, dance floors, dressing up, delicious food, open bars, etc. However, if you’ve ever planned a wedding, or are currently planning one, you know how much work it truly is. And for lesbian and gay couples, there’s the added obstacle of having to “come out” to your wedding vendors, who more often than not typically associate weddings and straightness .

Enter in the Say I Do! LGBT Wedding & Lifestyle Expo, which was founded “to give LGBT couples a forum to meet LGBT-friendly vendors who are ready, willing, and able to make wedding dreams come true.” For four hours at the Radisson Plaza Warwick Hotel on Sunday, October 28, you’ll be able to meet with more than 20 vendors, including photographers, caterers, and more.

Whether you’re single or in a relationship, the Expo is a great place to connect with local LGBT resources who can assist with everything from financial information to legal preparation.

Plus there’s festivities, including games, free prizes, etc.

“At the Say I Do! LGBT Wedding & Lifestyle Expo, we go beyond the business aspect because ‘Say I Do!’ is more than just a phrase and expo, it’s a symbol of acceptance and a celebration of equal love and life,” says Glenda Britt, Director of the Philadelphia Region at Pinkdot Concepts, who organize the Expo.

First and foremost, I love this website!

Now, the tickets. I am a wedding planner and event coordinator that is in the initial stages of starting her own company. I would love the opportunity to network with other vendors and poll individuals at the Expo in regards to their own weddings or what they are looking for in a planner or coordinator.

Look out for b. events inc. website, Pinterest and Twitter account coming soon:)

I would love to attend this expo. My fiance and I are getting married in June and while we are doing some of the preparations ourselves, it is very important to us to use vendors that are local, as well as LGBT friendly. Planning a wedding can be very stressful and using vendors who are LGBT friendly will definitely relieve some of the stress of wondering whether that perfect vendor we found will accept us and be willing to work with us. I have been looking online and it’s not always easy to tell about a vendor, so I would love to meet them in person.

My partner and I may have a young relationship but “when you know, you know”. We’re already brainstorming and talk about the day we say “I do”! Ideas of what we want are falling together and attending the Say I Do! Expo would be the perfect way to catapult into the details 🙂
I’m also a lifestyle photographer and think it would be a great opportunity to learn about the event and hopefully participate in the future!
