Things We Love: The Tot Cart

totcartlogo

The Tot CartJulie Crist and Jess Orso have always loved tots. (let’s be real, who doesn’t love tots?!) So the two women combined their love of tots with a business venture, and in March of 2013, The Tot Cart was born.

Worked well for me. Cheapest viagra online. You should be able to talk with a human being, including a licensed pharmacist, to answer questions about your prescription.

And we’re not talkin plain old tots (though if that’s your preference, they have those too). Menu items include Drunk Cheese Tots, which are tots served in a proprietary cheese sauce consisting of beer, a blend of cheeses, and spices; In The Buff Tots, which are tots served with wing sauce and blue cheese; and G-Parm tots, which are tots tossed with Parmesan cheese and garlic.

“Our most popular menu item is the New Bay Tots,” the duo says. “We toss the tots in Old Bay seasoning, and then cover them in our drunk cheese.”

The idea for The Tot Cart was developed by Julie,  whose primary role consists of creating new and interesting recipes (Chicken Pot Pie Tots, Cheesesteak Tots), and creating new relationships with event organizers, other food trucks, and of course, customers. Jess handles the scheduling, cart operations, and financials to keep the business afloat.

So where can you find The Tot Cart?

The ladies vend at Temple University and the University of the Sciences on a regular basis. They also move around the city for different events, and have been to the Northeast, South Philly, Chestnut Hill, and everywhere in between.

And The Tot Cart is becoming even more accessible, as the ladies are excited to announce they are opening a second truck. While they’re hesitant to give details away this early, they gave us this teaser: “An element of this truck is something that has never been done in this city before (as far as we are aware.)”

I just learned about the Tot Cart last week, but have yet to try them. I work at CHOP and am hoping they’ll come somewhere close. I think I read that they’ll be at The Porch at 30th St. Station in December. I can’t wait!!

I love tots! Yours sound so delicious. Will you ever be across the bridge in New Jersey? I’m in Camden County, NJ. There’s a town tree lighting in Gloucester City, NJ on December 7, 2013 in the evening. Big event… crafters, entertainment, activities, etc. Maybe you would consider it.
