Gayborhood to come together for victims of Orlando in unprecedented way

More than 12 bars in the gayborhood [and beyond] have decided to join forces for one night on Thursday, July 21, to raise money for the victims and their families of the June 12 shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando.

So far, the confirmed participating venues in the Philly4Pulse event include Tabu, Knock, ICandy, Tavern on Camac, Woody’s, Boxers, UBAR, Franky Bradley’s, Bike Stop, Stir, Voyeur Nightclub, Valanni, Bob & Barbara’s Lounge, and L’Etege.

While the exact schedule is still a work-in-progress, some details have been released. Local politicians will begin the evening serving as guest bartenders at 7 p.m., and then at 9 p.m., each business will hold their own unique event. Events will include drag & burlesque shows (Tabu, Franky Bradleys), dance parties (Woody’s, ICandy), karaoke (Knock), and more.

The organizers are still vetting organizations in order to determine where the funds raised will go. Donations will be collected at the door, and T-shirts will also be for sale.
